Schedule a Consultation

The first step is to schedule a consultation with an Invisalign-trained dentist or orthodontist. During this appointment, they will determine if Invisalign is the right treatment option for you. They will also take X-rays, photos, and impressions of your teeth, to create your customized treatment plan.

Treatment Plan

Your Invisalign provider will use the impressions of your teeth to create a 3D digital model of your mouth. This model will then be used to develop a customized treatment plan to outline the steps necessary to fix the misaligned teeth.

Create Your Aligners

Once the treatment plan is finalized, your Invisalign provider will send your X-Rays, impressions, and other details to a special lab to create custom aligners. The aligners are designed to fit your teeth exactly and will be replaced every two weeks. As your teeth shift over time, new aligners are built according to the new position of your teeth so that the alignment process continues.

Wear Your Aligners

You’ll need to wear your aligners for at least 22 hours daily. You should only remove them while eating, brushing, or flossing your teeth.

Check-Ins

You’ll need to visit your Invisalign provider every six to eight weeks to monitor your progress and receive new aligners.

Retainers

Once your teeth have shifted into the desired position, you’ll need to wear retainers to help keep your teeth in place. Depending on your specific situation, you may need to wear retainers full-time or just at night.

Dr. Alag comes from a family of doctors. She graduated from Maulana Azad Institute of Dental Sciences in India and practiced for a few years there. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry where she graduated with Honors in Prosthodontics.

She keeps herself updated through continuing education courses. Dr. Alag is also credentialed by AGD, CDA and ADA. She was awarded a Fellowship in Implantology by the International Dental Implant Association in 2018.
